Here’s a little edit from my point of view of Day 1 of the XAlps. It was a blistering start of the day been the hottest day of the year. Getting to the top of the Gaisberg was hard work but when in the sky it was all forgotten ( for a while;) https://youtu.be/oBW7c2Sgak0...

https://youtu.be/3LyX9xBMvYM   A great way to spend my birthday playing around in the alps on the Advance Omega3 and my Advance harness  ...

https://youtu.be/wl95dw4pXQM   A great day skiing  and flying in Diemtigtal Starting off with a 774M skin up to Meniggrat, A short ski down until the powder started to turn to slush, then flew across to other side of the valley  and skinned up to Turne : )...

Today was a great way to learn about the feet and body. I went for a 49k walk around lake Thun with Chrigel to test especially my feet. 8hours 10 mins for 49k. After around 35k I started to feel a bit of rubbing on the front of my foot, just under my toes. The conclusion after discussing with Chrigel was, when walking on the flat, your feet have a different glide over the inner sole, creating more friction on the foot, depending on the sole texture and socks you are wearing. So by having a more gliding inner sole, especially on long walks on asphalt, this can help to prevent blisters. I guess I have to do it again to find it out : )  I’m happy to find these things out now rather then in a race. I am a fan of Hoka shoes for the long flats because of their cushioning and trail running shoes for the mountains, providing more grip and stability. As for socks and soles I guess you got to do the miles to see what works best for you:)...

Another great day ski touring,  This week was my hard week, I’ve been mainly working on elevation, distance and strength training. Next week is back to easy week , based on balance - stability and interval training....

A Great day out with the X-Alps Academy, Working on optimising  packing and efficiently while starting and unpacking the wing we ended up doing five short flights and fine tuning the small things to make the process more effortless. Check out my Gallery or some more picks on my Instergram page ...
